Japan - Ancient Paths, Living Spirit
Japan is a land where ancient and modern live in quiet harmony: moss-covered temples beside glass towers, every gesture shaped by intention. Beneath its refined surface runs a deep spiritual current, carried for centuries through Shingon Buddhism - founded by the monk Kūkai - where body and spirit become one path.
Our pilgrimage starts at Mount Koya and follows the Kumano Kodō - an ancient network of trails walked for over a thousand years in Kii Peninsula. We walk between temples, rest in traditional ryokans inns, and soak in onsen hot springs at day’s end.
Begin on sacred Mount Kōya; overnight in temple lodgings, meditating with monks at dawn.
Wander the vast Okuno-in cemetery by lantern light, stroll among ancient cedars and stone stupas.
Walk the Kumano Kodō trails; ancient pilgrimage paths through mossy forests linking sacred shrines.
Experience the uniqueness of Japanese hospitality: rest in traditional ryokans with tatami rooms and kaiseki meals.
Soak in onsen hot springs — natural warmth relaxes the body after a day of walking.
